Colin Kinghorn

Colin is a seasoned senior manager with over 22 years management experience, of which the last 11 years having been spent in senior consulting roles leading teams that worked with some of the best known companies and governmental organizations from around the world. Born in Scotland, Colin's successful career took him to many countries around the world, before relocating to South East Asia in 2006 where his positions included Country Director for KPMG Laos and the Thailand Country Head for Synovate Business Consulting.

Colin is a Chartered Internal Auditor (CMIIA) and he is the former Chairman of the Institute of Internal Auditors in Scotland. He also sat on the Board of Directors of large social housing organization in the UK, where he was also a member of the Audit Committee.

Colin leads a strong team of Thai and Indonesian professionals in Bangkok and Jakarta who are committed to responding to the challenge of driving forward the economies of the South East Asian countries (ASEAN). The teams in Thailand and Indonesia have enjoyed great success in assist governmental, NGOs and private sector clients with their business strategy and market intelligence needs. Through focusing on the top level management issues in major organisations, the teams are able to make a meaningful impact on the local economies and communities within South East Asia. This is a major driving force behind our hunger for success in both countries. Their work has focused on markets in Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Laos. Recent engagements have also assisted our global and local clients to better understand the market opportunities in Kenya, Nigeria, Korea and Japan.

Colin has worked with a wide variety of clients across most of the major industry sectors, from government regulators, NGOs, Financial Services clients, energy and mining, retail, housing and health. He has advised some of the largest listed and private companies in the UK, USA and Europe as well as Thai, Japanese and Korean companies operating in South East Asia. In addition to his extensive experience of the private sector, Colin is proud of his strong connection with the public and not for profit sectors, having assisted in excess of 55 such organizations over the years, including the UNDP, The Global Fund, the World Bank, European Union, International Rescue Committee (IRC), Food Export Agency, Plan International, USaid and Care International.

Colin has spoken at conferences, training courses and events in Europe and Asia on subjects such as the Customer Value Proposition, Business Strategy and Planning, Corporate Governance, Financial Planning and Reporting, Risk Management, Internal Audit, Fraud and creating value.
