SINGAPORE: Investing in ASEAN Markets - Assessing the Risks and Opportunities
The ASEAN markets outside Singapore are showing robust signs of growth. But the decision about how and when to invest in these markets is complex. Anand Kumar, the practice head from Synovate's Business Consulting division in Singapore is presenting to the American Chamber of Commerce some of the methodologies to use when assessing the suitability for investing in emerging markets. Using examples and case studies, Mr Kumar will show a roadmap for assessing risk and opportunity that can be adapted for all industries looking to expand in the region. The presentation is at the AMCHAM offices in Singapore 12-2pm on Friday 2nd September 2011.

Anand is an experienced associate director in Synovate Business Consulting and has more than 12 years of experience, of which 8 years has been in management consulting in the area of Strategy and Operations. He has previously worked for Deloitte Consulting Strategy Practice & Accenture Strategy Practice, and has worked with clients such as Kraft, DANONE, DHL, Unilever, British American Tobacco, Whirlpool, Cummins.
Anand has extensive experience with the government sector and has recently led a major manpower study with SPRING Singapore. He has also recently spearheaded a multi-country retail assessment study for NIKE.
Anand has spoken at several eminent forums, and has written articles for local newspapers (e.g. "trends in e50" for the Business Times, Singapore), and in World Economic Forum workshops (White Paper on "Transportation & Logistics - Overview & Challenges in Asia" and "Transportation & Logistics - Listening to the Voice of the Customer").
