Associate Director (Healthcare specialist) — Beijing / Shanghai

Job description

  • Achieve financial revenue targets as agreed with the Head of Office / Research Director
  • Meet regularly with existing clients to manage all existing projects and relationships as well as securing new business for company
  • Present the company to potential new clients as agreed with annual objectives. Business development is an important element of this position
  • Meet sales targets as set out in annual objectives
  • Calculate costs to ensure comprehensive and accurate cost items are included in the proposal and that the gross profit margin remains in line with stated company objectives
  • Design and support others in designing high quality questionnaires to meet objectives of the studies commissioned
  • Deliver and support others in delivering fieldwork briefings to ensure the interviewers are clear about the purposes and logic of the flow of the questionnaires
  • Support fieldwork and data processing to ensure the study and its analysis are conducted in a logical and highly professional manner
  • Conduct data analysis to provide meaningful conclusions
  • Design reports and charts to present easy-to-read and meaningful linkage to conclusions
  • Estimate and plan resources for the commissioned projects to ensure the projects can be completed according to schedule
  • Interpret the data using SPSS, Excel or other techniques to produce accurate analysis
  • Write the conclusions to clearly and accurately represent the insights of the findings and recommendations
  • Assist in providing information during report presentation to clients
  • Train and supervise more junior researchers to ensure they acquire basic research techniques
  • Maintain the proposal and job folders are updated in line with the company MRQSA guidelines
  • Ensure that monthly agreed GAP figures are met and project slippage is kept to a minimum
  • Ensure that invoicing is carried out on time with copies to the client, the Synovate Healthcare office administrator and regional financial controller
  • Assist senior staff members and fieldwork on ad hoc projects as assigned
  • Collect outstanding debt speedily to ensure good cash flow for the company

Requirements

  • University degree, preferably major in medicine, pharmacy, marketing, economics, mathematics and / or statistics
  • 7 years plus prior market research / agency experience; 5 years prior healthcare market research or other healthcare agency experience
  • Marketing and business knowledge of the healthcare industry in China is critical
  • Good facilitating (moderating) skills in order to successfully run focus groups and in depth interviews as well as internal staff meetings as required
  • Fluent Mandarin and English - spoken, written and reading
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required including strong listening skill and the ability to be empathetic
  • Able to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks efficiently and in an organized way
