In order to better support a key NJ-based pharmaceutical client, Synovate Healthcare is seeking to hire a market research professional who can split his / her time between working for this client 3 days per week on-site and working at Synovate for other clients the remaining 2 days per week. This market research professional will conduct secondary data analyses at the request of his / her assigned market research group and proactively suggest / generate analyses based on a thorough understanding of client business issues. The researcher may also oversee primary market research projects assigned to Synovate Healthcare as appropriate.
In servicing the client on-site, the consultant's essential responsibilities are to:
- Conduct ad-hoc secondary data analyses as requested by client market research staff and clearly communicate findings
- Manage routine reporting tasks in an efficient, accurate and autonomous manner, proactively bringing key findings to the attention of market research staff
- When required, the consultant will also help in the project management of assigned primary market research studies, working in tandem with other Synovate Healthcare staff
When not servicing the client on-site, the consultant's essential responsibilities are to:
- Support Synovate Healthcare custom research projects as required
- Assist in quantitative data analyses, particularly in support of the forecasting group
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years market research experience with at least 3 years in the pharmaceutical industry
- BS / BA degree required
- Strong secondary data skills including manipulation and mining of databases, integrating multiple datasets, and reporting performance diagnostics
- Knowledgeable of IMS prescription and sales audits, as well as other syndicated sales / marketing data such as Impact Rx, Verispan, SDI, etc.
- Significant experience in the pharmaceutical industry within a commercial analytics function (at least 3 years)
- Competence in SAS / SPSS and Access desirable
- Basic familiarity with primary market research required; advanced knowledge desirable

About Synovate Qualitative Research
Qualitative researchers aim to gather an in-depth understanding of human behavior and the reasons that govern such behavior. The discipline investigates the why and how of decision making, not just what, where, and when. Hence, qualitative research uses smaller but focused samples that are more often needed rather than large random samples. - 1 to 3 years experience with DHTML techniques (JavaScript, CSS, HTML) is necessary. Please note; this requirement requires actual knowledge of programming practices and not experience with web design suites such as Cold Fusion or Front Page
- Knowledge of company's operations as it relates to online market research surveys and data collection
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software systems
- Excellent programming and troubleshooting skills in regard to specialized software required in creating online surveys
- Ability to grasp new technologies quickly, and display ingenuity in design for the purpose of enhancing the business needs of the department and of the client
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external clients
