Darren Smith — General Manager, Singapore, and ViewsCast Expert
Darren is recognized expert in the ViewsCast technology. In this role and in his responsibilities on Singapore, he is responsible for business development, operations, implementation, solution-development and product development in his geographical region, and in ViewsCast. His special areas of expertise include customer satisfaction, call centre monitoring, training and development improvements, profiling and integrated solutions, with a focus on customer services, marketing functions, and global telecoms. ViewsCast in AsiaPac has continued to grow incredibly, while the breadth of how the platform is applied to research objectives in this part of the world demonstrates a true willingness on the part of researchers and clients alike to innovate.
Darren joined Synovate in July 2004 and since then has been involved in numerous customer satisfaction studies, mystery shopping programs, diary studies and online work. He began his career with Cable & Wireless in London in Corporate Sales, and then moved to product management and marketing before heading east to Tokyo to manage a program for a customised data network for Merrill Lynch. His last stint before joining Synovate saw him head up the AP region for Customer Services for the Enterprise market segment helping assure US$100M revenue.
Darren holds an MA from Oxford University in French & German and MBA from the illustrious University of Chicago. He also dabbles in Dutch, Italian & Japanese.
If you are at the Singapore Hyatt, you can find Darren hanging out at the sushi bar. Stranded on a desert island, he would be happy with a daily chilled bottle of champagne—in expensive glasses, please. He is confident he could catch enough fresh fish there to make his own sushi bar.
