Synovate enhances Japanese capabilities with acquisition of CORAL Pacific

HONG KONG — SYNOVATE the market research division of Aegis Group plc (Stock: AGS.L on the London Exchange), announced today that it has acquired CORAL Pacific Inc., a Japanese research business.
Established in 1993, CORAL Pacific is a full service market research business headquartered in Tokyo. The company provides market research for several leading consumer packaged goods manufacturers, primarily in the areas of brand and advertising tracking studies and product testing.
Synovate Global CEO, Adrian Chedore, said the CORAL Pacific acquisition boosted Synovate's already-strong presence in Japan and provided additional operational capabilities.
This acquisition makes a great deal of sense for both CORAL Pacific and Synovate - the companies are complementary in terms of clients and the sectors serviced.
While CORAL Pacific is not a large company, it has an excellent reputation and significant business with important FMCG companies. We are delighted to welcome another high-grade research company and its people to the Synovate team.

The CORAL Pacific business will integrate with Synovate's existing Japanese operations straight away, under the leadership of Synovate Japan Managing Director, Rika Fujiki.
Tsuneo Arai, President of CORAL Pacific, said the company's clients would benefit from Synovate's strength, resources and advanced proprietary solutions.

Mr Arai will join the Synovate team as Chairman for the Japanese business.
