Synovate continues rapid expansion in China with new Hangzhou office

HONG KONG — Leading global research company Synovate today announced plans for a new Hangzhou operation, the company's sixth office for its China business.
Synovate has teamed with one of the company's former key suppliers, Chun Qiu. The Chun Qiu staff will now work for Synovate and the business will become a branch of Synovate China.
Darryl Andrew, Managing Director of Synovate in China said the company made this move because of the consistent quality of Chun Qiu's output.
"Our priority is to deliver consistent high quality to our clients - and we want to control the access to quality resources.
"This moves means our clients will be able to directly tap into a market which is one of the fastest growing second tier cities in China. Hangzhou is a key growth hub beyond the first tier locations.
"First tier locations are becoming closer and closer to saturation in some categories. The more affluent second tier cities will become increasingly important for categories targeting the 'middle class' as levels of affluence grow in these cities," he said.
Mr Andrew said China was a major focus for the world's multinationals and Synovate's growth mirrored the need for credible and insightful information on Chinese consumers.
"It's certainly not news that the world is interested in China more than ever before. This interest provides an enormous opportunity for Synovate in China and we are well positioned to help clients understand the intricacies of the Chinese markets," he said.
Synovate China has experienced impressive growth and has heavily invested in people and technology in recent years. Many senior research professionals have joined and the company is using increasingly sophisticated techniques to ensure data quality and speed - including PDAs and online panels for data collection.
As well as Hangzhou, Synovate has China offices in Shanghai, Beijing, Wuhan, Guangzhou and a China division in Hong Kong.
